Hi everyone. I want to transfer to Bowdoin college. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how well known this college is, if I was to get a job in NYC. Would it not be helpful or should i apply somewhere else. Thanks

Among people who know these sort of things, it is very well known. The problem with this college is that I don’t think they have too many majors so make sure you do your research before you apply.

But yea, they are well known amongst educated people.

Maybe also try some national universities as opposed to liberal arts colleges because they tend to be more well-known regardless of rank. for example, more people know CMU than middlebury, even though the latter is probably ranked higher.

Yeah I already did my research. They have the major i want which is chemistry and I plan on double majoring in art history also. the problem is that i’m scared about getting admitted, cause they only accept 5-10 ppl a year for transfer.

I’m looking to apply there next year too. I know the rates are low, but look at the number of people who apply. if anything, that helps you more because your app can stand out more due to the small number of applications. Collegeboard says they admitted 6/182 so yes it does seem rather difficult but if you already did your research, I’m assuming you have a good shot.

let’s hope so. I really want to attend. I hope my gpa is high enough.

anyone else?

bump???
