Boy/Girl Ratio

Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be many more accepted girls than boys? I know it's usually about 47/53 but at our DT the numbers were way off and the same goes for the facebook group.

Well, I don't know about accepted but at most universities these days there are more women than men matriculating. Tulane's ratio was unusually skewed last year at 57% female. Obviously they would like more of a balance, but nationwide I think it is like 55% of entering freshmen are women.

S2 is just fine with the current imbalance.

I am sure he is, the cad.

I think you need to take into account that girls are more likely to begin social networking through facebook groups - I know guys who don't even join their college facebook groups before actually getting on campus.

And the same might be said for stressing more about the "perfect college" for them, so they might be visiting more.

Just theories, but as a female student I don't really notice any inequalities so I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey y'all. There seems to be a pretty big gender gap nationwide for college education, although there are still some colleges where there are more guys than girls. I guess thats probably a good thing for us in the long run, as there will be a lot more cualified females. A difference of a couple of percent doesn't really make a big difference, although at colleges where the ratio is like 3 girls to 1 guy you start to notice a more casual attitude to dating and sex, especially around the fraternities
