Boy how old am I?

How’d he get older than his father? Who is, of course, way older than me…

I saw Bob last fall- I admit first time I have seen him- but honey- if Bob Dylan is * way* older than you- I am amazed you are awake enough to post.
;)

[It’s Bob Dylan being Dylan at Seattle’s Moore Theatre](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/musicnightlife/2010004840_dylan06.html</a>)

I am used to seeing either 20 something’s, or 40 somethings who behave as if they are 20, so IMO, hardly moving onstage, was not " cutting loose".
But still- Dylan.

It wasn’t the Dylan I was most familiar with- but it was the Dylan I got.
:)

Coincidentally, I had seen another show about a month earlier by another performer of the same age ( actually a year older), who also wore black.
[“They say black is slimming”](<a href=“http://www.spinner.com/2009/08/29/tom-jones-gets-covered-in-undergarments-covers-prince-at-outsid/]"They”>http://www.spinner.com/2009/08/29/tom-jones-gets-covered-in-undergarments-covers-prince-at-outsid/)

Mathmom, my son thinks you are “sweet!”

He likes all those bands … and he thinks Apocalyptica is especially cool. He has a new-found respect for my CC addiction (as in, it’s not quite as dweeby as he thought).

OK, I’ve told this story before but it’s relevant to this thread:

When S was 4, President Nixon died. On the day of his funeral, I decided it was appropriate to hang out our American flag, out of respect for the Office of the President. As we backed out of the driveway to head to preschool, S asked why the flag was out.

“A former President died, and his funeral is today.”

“The President died?” Panicked look on 4 year old face.

“No, honey, President Clinton is fine. The man who died was president back when Mommy was a little girl.”

Relieved voice, “Oh. You mean George Washington.”

rim-shot

LMAO! Good one!

You were a LITTLE GIRL?? I was in HS and College when he was president :o You child…

Saw Elder Dylan in concert around 5 years ago. Most of the young crowd took him in as the warm-up act for Tom Petty.

Dylan was excellent! Tight, professional, a champ. Tom Petty was also good.

Around 1963, my parents took my sibs and me to hear their hero, Pete Seeger, at a large venue in Washington, D.C. My Dad was driving and we got stuck behind a taxicab which screeched to a halt. Dad leaned on the horn. Out jumped a young woman in a straight shift dress (not a shirtwaist!), barelegged, leather sandals. My mother said, “Who would come to a Pete Seeger concert dressed like that?” Next out of the cab climbed long-legged Pete, followed by a guitar and banjo case. Later, on stage, “that girl” turned out to be Joan Baez, Pete’s warm-up act. What a voice. I think she was around l9. That was the day I realized my parents were old, but I still loved them for taking me there.

oh so tired.

Yet another club show that didn’t start till 9pm even though I was happy to see two surprise guests who are in my favorites
( Jeff Rouse who performed with Mike McCready playing acoustic guitar & Star Anna with Justin Davis also on acoustic guitars)

But then what seemed to be a long set with a band that performed like their lyrics were actually worth listening to,to be followed by the headliner-
an UFO tribute band comprised of excellent musicians who I really love to watch.
If only they weren’t playing UFO.

It is an annual fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, this year money is going to Camp Oasis, for kids with Crohns- ( which I support with time & money) & we attend every year.

 • Sometimes* they play something besides UFO. Zeppelin, the Who, Lynryd Skynyrd. anything but UFO.

The first year we went, I was thrilled beyond belief, when a guy in jeans and a flannel shirt ( who my H thought was a roadie) , came out on stage by himself, no announcement, adjusted the mike stand and a stool & performed three acoustic songs before he was joined by the other musicians.

However, Eddie Vedder is not the usual opener. :(

I * know* it is a UFO tribute band- but I just couldn’t take the same songs that I hear every year & we left before it was over- plus it was midnight & I turn into a pumpkin.

But I did see that the zoo ( which we live just down the hill from) has an interesting line up this summer.
Jimmy Cliff, Steve Earle, Herbie Hancock, Jewel,Shawn Colvin, ( all on their own bills)
plus the aforementioned Star Anna!
& I know* they * start earlier.

Now I just have to see what dates won’t conflict with the No Depression festival at Marymoor Park. sweet. ( [The 2010 No Depression Festival will take place Aug. 21, 2010](no depression festival - No Depression) )
Last year- was great & they decided to make it an annual show.
:)
