Personally, I don’t want him on the bill but until they put me on the bill, I don’t really care who states back at me :p

hmmm, Hamilton should be on the ten dollar bill… as my history teacher once said, we build stone monuments for Thomas Jefferson, while our country is a huge monument to the ideals of Hamilton…

SEND ALL UNWANTED $10 TO ME!

po box 2733
hamilton, ny 12348

hehe.

Hamilton deserves his picture on the $10 bill. I mean, Grant is on $50 bills, and was probably the worst president of American history. Besides the fact, these $10 bills will hopefully reduce the amount of conterfeit and fraud in circulation today. Heh, with that design, counterfeiting these bills will be mighty difficult to replicate.

hamilton wasnt born in the U.S., so he couldnt legally run for president. get off hamilton’s back. he’s done more than you, fool.

So what am I supossed to do, beat up the gas station cashier if he gives me a $10 bill? And who is going to boycott money?

And for HoldenMCaulfield, good point, but if that was true, we would have had to wait for a born American citizen to become 35 years of age to be our first president. George Washington wasn’t born a U.S. citizen, but a British subject. The constitution says that any person 35 or over living in the U.S. at the time of the constitution’s ratification is eligible to run for president.

So technically, if some 250-year-old relic comes out of the woods and decides to run for president, no one could stop him

Sure he could.

obviously jefferson is a better candidate for being on a bill, the man had illegitamate children with his slaves
i.e. P I M P

i am kidding around btw

To kchen - Which of Hamilton’s views did Jefferson adopt? None seem to come to mind.

To JLP - I was going to send you my $10 bills but I had already disposed of them.

Many of you seem to feel that Hamilton was making positive contributions to our country. Allow me to elaborate on these contributions.

Hamilton wanted speculators to be able to pay off government bonds at full value. This act would only help his northern speculator friends, since the majority of people had already sold their bond for fractions of the origional value. = unfair

Hamilton proposed a series of tariffs, especially on whiskey. This hurt many people who used whiskey to transport grain easier. In fact, Hamilton, in his pious attempts to better our country, caused a rebellion known as the whiskey rebellion to begin. Did Hamilton feel any sympathy for the cries of the poor? Of course not! he urged Washington to put them down by force.

The bank of the US which people seem to be complimenting on this post, actually just helped the rich get richer and did not benefit the poor at all.

I understand that Benjamin Franklin was not president, but in light of his contributions, which actually helped America, i think he deserved his bill much more then Hamilton does.

to mahras2 - states rights is definately NOT dead. Where have you been? states gained even more power under Nixon’s “New Federalism”

I wish I knew how to quote people so I wouldnt have to keep saying
“to X -”

to quote people you type in the following:

[ quote]place text here
[/quote]
remove the space in between the bracket and the first q…

so the final result is:

awesome. thanks

You should be able to figure that out, since you can solve a 202020 rubiks cube in 7 seconds.

Without Alexander Hamilton, we would not have the American economy as we know it. He came up with the idea that national debt was a good thing, remember?

I like Hamilton. Of course, that could be because I had to play both Hamilton and Aaron Burr in an AP USH project when they were dueling each other.

Hamilton couldnt run for president because he had a nasty liking for prostitutes and there was a huge scandal revolving his african american love child.

no joke.

I think we should boycott 1/2 dollar coins. Kennedy doesn’t deserve to be on a coin, he was a ****ty president.

Hey, I like Hamilton. He has an intriguing background, being the son of a prostitute and all… You’ve got to admire him for breaking free of such filthy origins.

Agreed. Remember the Bay of Pigs, anyone?

Kennedy was also a ****ty human being.
