Now that the weather is warming up (at least for some of us) it might be time to put the black leggings away. On a whim I bought the above. They are super soft and comfortable. I could do without the distressed part but I think I like them enough to keep them.
I also ordered a pair of http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/eileen-fisher-boyfriend-jeans-regular-petite/3637238?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=60133980&fashionColor=Aged+Indigo&resultback=0&cm_sp=personalizedsort-_-searchresults-_-1_1_A. They haven’t arrived yet.
What is your take on the boyfriend jean for the over 50 crowd?
What shoes are you wearing with your bf jeans?
My normal go to jean is a skinny jean. Skinny jeans look great on me but I long for a pair of pants that I don’t have to peel off.

Yikes… My take is that is a LOT of money to pay for a pair of jeans with a “distressed” look.

Holy cow I didn’t get past the $220 for a pair of jeans. I’m on the wrong forum!

Not for me. The name is “cute” – boyfriend jeans, but to me they are just boot cut jeans rolled up. I have a pair of plaid flannel lined llbean jeans that I “roll up” over my snow boots, but I wouldn’t do it as a fashion statement. Maybe if a friend was having a square dance party…then it might be fun. (I refrained from mentioning 200 bucks for jeans with holes in them).

And if one is shorter than Michelle Obama, I think they might make one look stumpy.

I have several pairs of these (not as distressed, and I paid under $30 at TJ Maxx and Macy’s for them!) I just turned 60 and this style is my absolute favorite. I wear them with Sperry top siders, flats, sandals,… They can be dressed up or down, so versatile and I think they are very flattering.

I have a pair from Old Navy. $25. They remind me of the jeans I wore in high school before there were so many girl’s styles. I don’t think I look stumpy and I dislike really tight anything.

I have a very similar pair from the Gap that I love but got mine at a naked lady party (nieigborhood wine night and clothing swap named for the required closed curtains).

It’s never going to be warm enough to wear those here:) to me, they look like over priced denim jean capris.

If you like them and you are comfy in them, that is all that matters. I personally will not buy clothes with holes in them.

It’s hotter down here so I wear sandals with shorts. I think it depends more on your body size than your age. I’m 5’6" and I think capri’s or BF jeans like that have always made me look dumpy even when I was younger and thinner. If you can pull it off good for you.

I like the styling but prefer not to have the distressing. The suggestions of Sperrys , flats or sandals work for me. I’m not a heels person at all. TOMS?? Or a not too high wedge??

I too am hung up on the ridiculous price - do they look any better than cheap jeans from old navy?

I dont cuff mine, but I have some button fly Gap jeans which are very similar, to the Eileen Fisher pair.
I wear them with flats, I wouldnt wear them with the booties on the model.
I wouldnt pay to have holes added. I can do that myself!

mom60 - i think I like the look of the Eileen Fischer jeans better than the Vince Mason. Many Nordstrom shoppers (Moms) have fallen in love with the Gap 1869 for skinny jeans, but also with these really straight’s that actually look really great on and you don’t have to peel off your body. (40%) off through the 26th! Gap;

(FYI to tall girls - the online long/talls are about 2 inches longer than the in store longs)

I just wear my son’s cast off jeans if I want the look. But it’s still winter here - it may even snow tonight. I wear mine with flip flop like sandals.

I found the first pair at Crossroads .They are used so nowhere near full price.
The Eileen Fisher I ordered are full price but if they fit my body I might keep them.I think with the darker denim and no holes I can wear them a lot.My skinny jeans are from Old Navy and Gap. I found the Old Navy BF to not fit me right. These Vince boyfriends are a much softer denim and don’t irritate my hip. I tried them on at the urging of a younger friend and they are just so comfortable that I impulse bought them.I have a rotated pelvis which makes my hips uneven making it very hard to find pants that aren’t uncomfortable. I am concerned about not looking stumpy. I am also don’t want to look like I am trying to be 30.

I like them. I also am a believer in quality denim. I will pay quite a bit for jeans and I DO think they look a lot better than lower quality jeans. There are details like pocket placement, too, that make them much more flattering. I have a pair of boyfriend jeans with much less distressing, which I have to have in order to wear them to work on Fridays. I think they look great, Mom60!

I like the $20 jeans I get from Costco. Sorry, can’t get used to paying a lot for jeans. They’re my knock-around clothes that I can do whatever I feel like in, including getting dirty.

I might pay more for dressier pants, but don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $30 or 40 for jeans.

Good fitting, quality jeans are as important to my wardrobe as a nice blazer or trousers. Jeans are worn a lot around here for social functions AND in the workplace on Fridays and some other occasions. I travel in them and dress them up or down. I’ll make the investment.

Jeans, really all pants, are so individual that you have to look around a lot and try on many pairs to get one that is just right for you. If they cost $200 and that works for you, so be it, but I think a proper individual fit is more important and doesn’t correlate to price - at all. It’s quite possible to get a pair for less than $50 that looks just as good and without peeking at labels, no one would know (or care, I hope).

I’ve never tried jeans in this short, capri-like length. It seems too heavy a fabric to feel right, but you never know. If you like it, you like it.
