boyfriend jeans

The silk tank top is $185 because, well it’s silk, which makes it expensive. The cotton tanks are $48, which I feel is very reasonable. I buy very little each year, but spend a lot on a few pieces. I’d rather do that then buy a bunch of less expensive things. I don’t work so don’t need to worry about having lots of different outfits. Since last fall all I have bought is a pair of leggings, 3 long sleeve tees, a sweater and a pair of boots. This is pretty much all I’ve worn all winter with the leggings or jeans.

I didnt say the cheaper tanks/tees fall apart. I said they don’t stay soft and they lose their shape.

I also buy Velvet and Michael Stars tees and tanks.

Of course, I try to pick up these things on sale at the end of a season.

Everybody has a different income, budget, etc. How they spend it is an individual choice. I don’t judge. I may not spend 200 dollars on a pair of jeans but it doesn’t bother me if somebody else does.
I don’t have one brand of jeans that I absolutely love but if I found one that fit me really well, didn’t stretch out or shrink and lasted a reasonable amount of time, I would willingly pay as much as I could afford for them. They are a staple of most people’s wardrobe.

If you visit the “Dressing Young” thread you will see posts from people that pay ten times what I would pay for an article of clothing. Even if I can’t afford it or choose not to spend that much on clothing, I can still get ideas about styles, outfits, accessories, etc.

I teach art at an elementary school. I asked some of my students to bring in a shoe box for an upcoming project. The other day a student brought a box that still had the price tag on the outside. 565 dollars for a pair of faux leopard heels. I had to laugh because it isn’t anything that I would ever buy. But at the same time I thought “good for her!!”.
