boysx3 -- an update

I also missed the news that you’d had some major health challenges but am glad that you are back.

My baby left for a military academy this summer and within a few weeks needed knee surgery. The injury was severe enough that he has weeks of physical therapy ahead of him so he will be granted a medical leave of absence. The plan is that with lots of physical therapy he will recover and he’ll start over at the academy next summer. He is determined to get well enough to return, so he has chosen to embrace Plan B.

I wish you continued recovery.

boysx3, I hadn’t heard about your stroke, but now that I have I am so happy for you and your family! My best wishes for continued recovery!

boysx3, I’m sorry to just now be hearing about your stroke. Just as you’ve always been a resource and encouragement to others, I’m glad to see that you have the support, prayers, and love of so many people behind you. Am thrilled to hear that you are exceeding the expectations of your doctors. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best on your journey to recovery!

Boysx3, we want to hear about how your recovery is coming along, and about your grandchild. I hope you’re able to visit with your sons and extended family often. Keep up the good work!

Boysx3-Greetings from another momof3sons! I was also under the erroneous assumption that you had just found other things to occupy your time rather than “play” with us on CC. I am so sorry to hear about the tremendous health challenge you faced, but absolutely thrilled that you are on the road back.

Dear Boysx3:

Countingdown and RVM are keeping us posted with your progress. You & I never spoke but I enjoyed reading about your move to DC and your son’s weddings and now a grandchild. My sister had a stroke at age 30. She is doing very well today and driving around! My mother also had a stroke 5 1/2 years ago. I know how serious this issue is and am thrilled to hear you are bouncing back. You have the support of your family, of course, but all of us here on cc too. We are thinking about you and wish you the best.

Hello,
I just posted about you on another thread, and I remebered this one, so here I am. I hope you’re still progressing well, and are finding lots of things to keep you busy. It sounds like some of your CC friends, and I’m assuming some in real life friends, are taking very good care of you. We are looking forward to hearing how you’re doing, and hearing from you more and more as time goes on.

Hi - I had lunch with her last week, and she is doing very well. It is going to be difficult for her to post because she has some residual issues with vision and reading. But hopefully that will improve. I will make sure to read these comments to her - sure she will enjoy and greatly appreciate.

I talked to boysx3 last night, and she was doing well. She was cooking dinner while we talked. They have been slowly reducing the home health aide’s hours, and she is excited that she is continuing to make progress. I think she’s mostly excited about not having someone watching here every move! I am going to see her next week. We kind of got out of our routine over the past month with both of us traveling and me having many projects going on.

She did say to tell everyone Shana Tova and passed along her wishes for a sweet, happy and HEALTHY New Year.

BoysX3 is truly a miracle…her husband, children and TWO grandchildren are all doing amazingly well. They are a wonderful family. I am meeting with her in the next week or so…My daughter and I are visiting Washington for a long weekend. BoysX3 will be our tour guide…

And as one who has had so many near brushes with death…her family ALL were so active in her recovery.

@bevhills - have a wonderful visit!

Wait,I think I missed a chapter. I remember reading about one grandchild. Tell us about the grandkids!!

RVM: My daughter and I are truly looking forward to this very special weekend.

Yes, her married son just presented Dawn and her husband with another boy. This has been a VERY busy year for them. I don’t want to steal Boysx3’s thunder. When she is ready, she will tell everything.

None of us mind a few hints. I am so glad you are going for this visit. Convey the love of all of us CCers. Thanks

bookworm: We are thrilled and happy to visit. The first time Boysx3 called me after her stroke I was on the treadmill. I saw the number come up. I turned off the treadmill and answered. I heard her voice…and cried.

I will ask what or if she wants to tell.

She should change her name to boysx3+2. So happy for her continuing recovery and congrats on the new grandson.

Great that she is having visits from so many CCers in real life! I will probably be in DC this December. Maybe I can look some of you up, including Boysx3. So glad she continues to improve and doesn’t need to be under such constatnt supervisino.

I would be happy to roll out the red carpet for you!

Yay!!! She’s posting!!

Yay!!!
