Warms my heart to hear about your recovery! Keep up the good work. I know it’s not easy, but you have an entire community behind you.
Welcome back! I am so happy that your recovery is going well.
CountingDown, it’s great that you can be there for Boysx3. I think time is the best gift we can give.
I am hoping she keeps improving at a steady rate.
Since this is college confidential, and she did help with our decision, I just figured I’d let her know my son wound up NOT taking the big scholarship from Miami Ohio, and he just finished his first year at UMD/Smith School. He’s very happy with his decision.
Hugs to you both.
Great thread. Welcome back. Now you can help us figure out mystery of college application process.
This is an amazing story! At first I was embarrassed that I didn’t know who Boysx3 was,but since it was pointed out which threads she frequented, and I don’t visit those threads, I don’t feel as bad.
@Boysx3, so happy for you! I can’t imagine what you have been going through. It sounds like you have an amazing support system, and a lot of people rooting for you. Add me to that group!
Keep us posted on your progress! ((((Hugs))))
Welcome back, amazing story.
Wow, I had no idea. So glad you made it through all of that! When posters disappear, I just assume they are busy, but what a story!
Prayers for continued progress, boysx3.
I am like busdriver11, unless there is a thread like latetoschool’s or sunriseeast’s, I assume folks get too busy or disinterested when they disappear.
CountingDown: You are a true friend. You visit often, give support…wonderful. Boysx3 is the same. She has supported other people in times of medical need. She assisted me through my son’s wedding…the information that she gave me was invaluable.
What gave me hope? Her husband brought a tape of their grandson playing. She wanted to see that tape over and over. When there is love, support, fight I really thought that she would make it. And she did.
Welcome back boysx3!! So happy for your recovery. Miracles do happen, and we are all happy that one happened to you. God bless you and your family.
Prayers for your ongoing recovery and welcome back!
What wonderful news. So great to see that you are back!
Thank you, CD, on filling us in on boysx3’s incredible story. I always worry when a long timer disappears… even when I don’t know the poster personally. Glad to hear the good news!
boysx3, to your steady progress towards full recovery! Baby steps will cover a marathon distance - little by little.
boysx3, blessings to you and your loved ones. Onward!
boysx3, I had no idea either. My deepest wishes for your continued progress. It’s clear you have many people who love and care about you.
And, if this is the main thread you’ll be reading, I’ll share that D2 just graduated and got a job in DC and I just got back from moving her in. I lived in DC for 2 years for grad school (GW) and met my dh while back there. It was so fun to be back in our great capitol. What a wonderful place to live! My daughter has had her first week of work and we’re just so excited for her.
CD, thank you for sharing the good news.
Hi boysx3! As I have said before, I am so happy you are doing so much better! I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers and keep sending the secret and magic 2009 fairy dust your way!
Wish I lived closer to D.C.
Thank you CD for keeping us all informed. You are such a wonderful friend!
{{{HUGS}}} to both of you!
Good Monday morning
I’ll share with you that my 2 younger children just returned 10 days ago from their Birthright trip. I was thrilled that my D really wanted to go and worked on getting her brother to sign up. My S loved the trip. my D loved parts but felt the trip was rushed and to jammed pack from morning to night. She is my introvert and felt she didn’t have alone time to recharge. They both enjoyed the feeling of being in a place where most are Jewish. None of my 3 participated in any Jewish event in college, so I was surprised they wanted to do this trip. My oldest aged out of eligibility and regrets she didn’t go.
I might be needing some college searching tips as my youngest is taking time off after completing 2 1/2 years at a UC ( university of Ca) campus. She won’t go back to her school and is interested in finding an online degree completion program.
I bet your grandson is a joy.
Hugs to you
Boysx3,
So glad to hear your road to recovery continues. Best wishes to you. I have been a long time reader, and followed your posts for years. I appreciate what this community means to all here, and look forward to you being able to provide guidance and perspective when you are ready. I still have goosebumps from finding this thread…
Wonderful news on your recovery!!! I’m so glad your little grandson has brought you so much strength and joy. I remember how excited you were when he was born. That unconditional love and sense of wonder are truly energizing. Aren’t grandkids great!
Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!
I was not aware of Boysx3’s health setback, but I’m certainly delighted to read about her improvement. Wishing you the best as you continue your recovery journey!
