The uncle seems to be speaking for the family but not sure what, if any , legal standing an uncle would have before a court in regard to a niece?

How does the uncle have a legal interest in this case? Was he one of Jahi’s legal guardians?

[xpost with sevmom]

He’s the one who called the first news conference at the hospital and he is the lawyer’s first contact with the family. I don’t know if that means anything at all.
But that’s how it happened.

The uncle disgusts me. He seems to be determined to perpetuate this drama. The stepfsther, on the other hand, is rarely heard from. The uncle is the one on social media, giving interviews, etc. And I am sure that when the inevitable lawsuits are filed, he wil be at the forefront of that activity as well.

The mother needs CLOSURE which will only come when she accepts the fact that her baby is gone. This entire spectacle fueled by the nutcases such as the lawyer and Schavio folk is not helping to accomplish that, because if enough doubt is raised, even a highly logical, educated person will start believing in miracles!

Random thoughts.
We should all pray that this does not set some sort of precedent.

I wonder if some of the staff members of the hospital will require psychological therapy after taking care of her body for three weeks.

I can’t even imagine the horror of being an EMT and doing your job only to find you’ve been working on a corpse that is 3 weeks gone.

I’m telling you, as a parent, I can’t imagine their heartbreak but they have also done great harm to people whose life work is to be caregivers.

Like others have said, you can’t make this stuff up. It’s beyond any normal reasoning to not understand brain death. I’m quite sure it ws explained to them time and again, that she was being supported by artificial means only and there no more life sustaining brain activity. Why on earth could they not accept that? I feel so bad for everyone involved, on all levels.

I’m absolutely horrified to think of them at home with a body now probably decomposing at double time and how unthinkable it would be if it starts becoming noticeable to them.

Bingo. Too bad he isn’t at the Catholic facility where she reportedly was taken.

How can she be receiving nutrients? Given the above posts about the deterioration of her body, how is this even possible?

Another missing father in all of this is her real father. He was around at the very beginning but disappeared. And, yeah, I was hoping someone else would be the first to mention that the uncle is awful. And, he doesn’t come across as a dummy, either.

"…she was already receiving potassium intravenously"

Good lord. To keep a dead body for so long, the staff at Children’s was giving it more than just potassium.

Kluge, so basically everyone really can live forever. Forget brain death. Just hook everyone up to machines and on we go, marching to the beat of the vent into the future.
SMH.
We think healthcare is expensive now! Just wait.

He seems to be relishing the spotlight - bantering with reporters - congratulating himself for getting her moved. I wonder what her biological father thinks of the sideshow that has developed here. I feel sympathy for the mother, no matter how misguided she is, but the uncle and attorney appear to have their own agenda.

His latest tweet: Not interested in getting my followers up, just worried about getting them dollars up. (assume he’s talking about the fund the family set up).
He has only 200 some followers but he has over 8000 tweets, including one where he says - Your uncle is a BEAST.
It really is unbelievable .

Okay, this has nothing to do with anything, but [Dr. Flori’s declaration](http://media.nbcbayarea.com/documents/HeidiFlori.pdf) was beautifully drafted, unlike many of the other documents filed in this case. Whatever junior associate worked on it with her did an excellent job - it’s clear, persuasive, and concise.

Uncle is on Piers Morgan right now. He’s been in front of a camera all day. All day.

A nurse from the nursing forum I visit explains the January brief already mentioned and quoted:

Early on I spoke of the body beginning to rot from the inside and starting to smell. The lung secretions as described in the brief are particularly awful.

The uncle and the lawyer are both smart guys and it is really hard for me to believe that they truly believe Jahi is alive, given all of the evidence they have had access to. Here is the uncle’s LinkedIn info. I wonder what his employer thinks about all of this. I’m pretty sure this is him but have seen the last name spelled differently in news reports.

So why, if her potassium level is already rising dangerously as the result of necrosis (post #1416), would they be administering IV potassium (post #1408)?

And while were asking questions just exactly who could they possibly be? I mean, I realize there are all kinds of quacks and kooks out there but this is over the top.
