Brand new and seeking advice

I’m brand new here, and i’m just looking for a little advice. Next year I’ll be a freshman at a very good all-girl prep school. Now, I’ve heard from the girls there that you shouldnt weigh urself down freshman year, and I just wanted an opinion on the courses I want to take next year, if u think it will be too much.
First Term:
English 9 ( Required all year)
Ethics ( Required for either term)
Early Modern Europe ( Either this or Modern European History for this term)
French 4 or 3 ( havent taken placement test yet, all year)
Geometry ( maybe Honors, all year)
Physics ( possibly Honors, i hate science, but most geo students take the Honors course, all year)
Acting 1 ( Elective, one term)
Band ( Elective, all year)
Chorus ( Elective, all year)
Ballet class ( During Autumn)
Musical ( During winter)

Second Term:
English 9 ( Required All year)
History of the Middle East ( I chose from a bunch of diff. courses, i have to do this for one term)
French 3 or 4 ( All year course)
Leadership ( one term, required)
Physics ( same)
Acting 2 ( Elective, one term)
Geometry ( same)
Band ( same)
Chorus ( same)
Introductory Computer Science ( one term, required)
Musical ( Winter)
Softball team ( Spring)

the musical, ballet, and softball are atheletic credits i need. But the electives are worrying me. I have 7.5 credits for the first term and 8 ( max ) for the second. Is this too much, or should I maybe save the Acting classes for another year?
