Has anyone had one? It’s gets so humid in the summer and I was wondering if you can still get volume at the roots and some in your hair, too? It doesn’t just make it super slick straight does it? My hair has gotten a little frizzier underneath and it’s frustrating to blow it out with a round brush and start seeing it frizz.
I got them for years and it definitely does not make it stick straight for me. One thing you can do if you are concerned about it is instead of having the stylist do the finishing step with a flat iron, they can do it with a large barrel curling iron. I did that a couple of times - it didn’t turn out that different but it gave it a little more body and was still shiny and smooth. I stopped doing them during Covid and I am not sure I am going to return to it only because it didn’t last very long on me.
I use to get then one or twice a year, but do to Covid, haven’t had one in well over a year. I can not wait to get one, hopefully this spring.
My hair is thick and frizzy, but I flat iron it regularly. With BB, while it is pretty flat the first few weeks, once washed a few times, it looks fuller. Never heard of using the large barrel curling iron; will have to ask my stylist about that.
@smiles2122 I am surprised that yours didn’t last long, as it is the only process that works at all on my hair. Regular Keratin treatments wouldn’t lasts on me more that a few weeks; Brazilian Blowout has been a gift for my hair.
I have long, curly, thick/coarse hair that frizzes quickly; if I want it straight I use the Brazilian Blowout straightening balm and use a Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer; it’s so much easier than a separate brush and dryer. It leaves my hair soft and frizz free for days (unless I get it wet😉).
Thank you all for your responses. I have lots of fine hair. I remember when I had perms decades ago all the different hair stylists would comment on how much hair I had. It would take 90 minutes just to roll. I always thought I had “thick” hair because of those comments until I realized I actually have fine hair.
Then 6 years ago I suffered from some form of effluvium alopecia. A summer of great stress and started losing my hair. . I lost almost half my hair in a 5 month period. thought I was going bald. Dermatologist started me on spironolactone and eventually it came back. But I still probably have 80-85% of what I did before…which is actually ok. It’s easier to style. But it’s frizzier, especially underneath. I’m sure it has something to do with not having the old weight to pull it out.
I I’m going to try the Brazilian product first, if that doesn’t work, then a blowout and ask about the barrel curling iron. Although I blow it out straight, I like volume.
I have frizzy hair that’s also very thick. I had both the BB and Keratin treatments. Both left my hair free of frizz but flatter than I liked. I believe Keratin lasts a little longer. I decided I would only get the treatment for the summer months, although I didn’t last year because of Covid. My stylist gave me a product called Olaplex that was great for the frizz—it repairs damaged hair. You have to leave it in for at leadt 20 minutes to see a difference.
