Yes, D looked up a number of strata recipes that look great.
I seriously dislike hot sweet things, odd I know, I like savory.
Thanks everyone–something will happen with ham, bacon, eggs, and herbs.
But your recipes taught me how to go about it.
I’m not sure this qualifies, but I made it this morning and it’s gone already
Some things that make this easy-if you live near a Publix, in the bakery section they usually have pizza dough that is already rolled out and ready to go. This is the secret to this being fast and easy.
MoD’s Dragon Rolls
1 package Publix pizza dough
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1 small bag real bacon bits (or you can cook and chop up bacon if you want)
1 cup chopped pecans
Melt butter and mix the above ingredients together, then spread on the top of the pizza dough. Roll it up and slice it into sections about an inch thick. Bake for 30 min at 325-it should be browned on top.
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
Mix glaze together and then let people put as much or as little as they want on top.
Then go for a really long walk because it’s ridiculously not good for you
I think I am layering potatoes cheese spinach herbs eggs cream ham and bacon.
Yours could be the sweet. Reminds me of the cinnamon rolls we use to make from a can.
Recently saw a breakfast pizza. Veggies cheese and then eggs cooked sunny side up on it
My breakfast casserole in made and will sit overnight before baking in the morning!
Classic version this year, cibatta bread, ham, onion, a little mushroom, cheddar and a little monterrey jack. Some herbs chopped to top.
Spinach quiche made for tomorrow and another one made to take to a recuperating
relative. H was so bored today that he made them! (with much guidance, but still).
Almond torte in fridge.
Best of all-pantry cleaned and cabinets wiped down and frog cleaned–all of D’s
BF but it is always a good thing to get done.
The “breakfast” casserole is for S’s and families visit beginning Tuesday.
How do you clean your frog, @oregon101?
well gosh–don’t you know :-j
Blood orange (with freshly squeezed juice) Bellinis.
Too late for this year, but this is the one I make every Christmas eve for Christmas morning; https://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/overnight-country-sausage-and-hash-brown-casserole/e6b3ef2a-3e5f-4db5-9684-c5b199f3482f Feeds a crowd, and really easy. I use turkey sausage and have hot sauce available. First course is this: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/7110/quick-and-easy-monkey-bread/ It’s hard to find butterscotch pudding sometimes, but vanilla works. I also add raisins and use about a cup of pecans. I put both in the oven at the same time but we eat the monkey bread first, open some presents and then the breakfast casserole is ready. I make a mushroom version for the vegetarians.
sorry, late for this year but we like hash browns instead of bread in a casserole. I’ve made one similar to this and it was delicious.

Hey @VaBluebird - I think we posted the same recipe! I agree - Potatoes!
I ended up making a version of monkey bread.
cut up biscuits, eggs, milk, cheese (cheddar and gruyere) chopped ham, scallions.
I messed up a bit on the measurements as I needed more than most recipes I found but
all in all it was a hit. It took about 10 minutes to put together. When I got up in the morning
H had baked it and people wandered in bit by bit. No chaos in the kitchen! It was lovely.
Thanks for all of the recipes here–I will definitely be referring back to them.
Breakfast casseroles rock!
Thanks so very much!
Next time I plan on using bacon which I will cook ahead and freeze. Maybe ham and bacon…
hash browns…a new world!
