I’m sorry.

we’re here…

Thanks! About a month ago, one of my “best friends” (also my former professor, mentor, co-author, and support system through a difficult time in my life) decided she wanted nothing more to do with me (…because I sent her a present and asked her to pick it up? Yeah, I don’t know…). I’m just surprised that the loss of a totally platonic friendship (we’re both straight females) could hurt so much… I thought friendships weren’t really “supposed” to matter… Anyone else ever “broken up” with a good friend?

Yes, I have. The “breakup” occurred at the end of freshman year in college.

Yes, I broke up with a cousin who was also a good friend. She broke up with me! Hopefully in time you will see that this break-up is a good thing. I did.
