A friend sent this in email - I just had to share:

A Marine stationed in Iraq recently received a “Dear John” Letter from his girlfriend back home. It read as follows:

Dear Ricky,
I can no longer continue our relationship. The distance between us is just too great. I must admit I have cheated on you twice since you’ve been gone, and it’s not fair of either of us. I’m sorry. Please return the picture of me that I sent to you. Love, Becky

The Marine, with hurt feelings, asked his fellow Marines for any snapshots they could spare of their girlfriends, sisters, ex-girlfriends, aunts, cousins etc. In addition to the picture of Becky, Ricky included all the other pictures of the pretty gals he had collected from his buddies. There were 57 photos in that envelope along with! this note:

Dear Becky,

I’m so sorry, but I can’t quite remember who the f*** you are. Please take your picture from the pile, and send the rest back to me.

Every military family I have seen has like 5 kids. They reproduce like it is their responsibility to repopulate the earth. Unfortunately, 90% of people in the military from my experiences cheat on their spouses when away. This is why I know many military guys who refuse to date military females.

Guys, this is kind of icky. I posted this joke months ago, because it seemed funny and harmless at the time. I forgot about it and am surprised to see it resurrected after so much time. Given current events it’s not so funny any more, and I never, ever intended it to be a platform for negative remarks about gentlemen in the military, or their families.

I think perhaps a moderator should delete this entire thread. It’s just not appropriate any more, given the situation in Iraq.
