<p>I got both a letter and an email inviting me to 2007 Bren School of ICS High School Scholars Day (letter came on 3/5, email 3/14)</p>
<p>Did any other Computer Science, comp engineering, etc majors recieve this?
And is anyone planning to attend? I’m attending it this saturday. Also does this mean anything significant about my admissions decision? I’m still waiting for my decision. I’m trying to be optimistic, because I don’ think there’s any reason to notify me on the 5th with an invitation to an event late on the 24th unless it’s good news? </p>

<p>Thank you for your application to UC Irvine. I would like to invite you and two guests to join me for the 2007 Bren School of ICS High School Scholars Day program on Saturday, March 24, from 1:00 ?5:00 pm. This event is designed to provide prospective students with an in-depth look at the exciting opportunities and resources within the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (Bren ICS). We believe this program will help you to decide that UCI is your college of choice, should you receive an offer of admission.*</p>
<p>Specifically, you will have opportunities to:</p>
<p>? Hear my thoughts about the Bren School?s unique strengths;
? Learn about the value of a computer science education from an industry leader and Bren ICS alumni;
? Ask questions of current students about Bren ICS and UC Irvine;
? Meet members of our faculty and see demonstrations of their research;
? Ask counselors about programs of study, academic planning, and other campus opportunities;
? Tour Bren ICS facilities and see parts of our beautiful campus.</p>
<p>This program offers a comprehensive overview of the Bren School of ICS and a unique opportunity for you to get your questions answered by those who know ? current undergraduate students and alumni, faculty and professional staff. Our faculty and students will be available prior to the event, from noon to 1 pm, to chat informally with you about their impressions and experiences at the Bren School of ICS and UCI. </p>
<p>Participation is free and parking will be provided in the Engineering Parking Structure off East Peltason at Anteater Drive. Remember to dress casually and wear comfortable shoes since you will be walking between various buildings and may be interested in participating in the optional campus and housing tours that follow the conclusion of the program.</p>
