“Don’t think they will be happy.” Honestly, you can worry about that kind of thing only so much, especially with that large a group. Unless someone is very frail ,elderly or disabled, they should be okay (and you can make arrangements to be sure people in that scenario -if there are any-are accommodated). And as Pizzagirl says, if anybody is that worried about sitting together, they really should make sure they are not the last to arrive.

So they split up. So? Are they adults? If they drive there together and back, that’s not enough together time? What would they do if you had table cards and assigned the different tables - throw a fit?
You don’t get to come in late to an event and then pout that you aren’t seated together.
A friend of mine gave a shower recently, the close friends of the mother of the groom brought most of the food, others were not asked. There were no lame games, but they are having a large wedding on low funds so there were six stations where we all made decorations for the reception. Everyone I sat with liked it better than shower games
Pizzagirl: I agree that I understand why she did what the bride did and the sensitivities there. Frankly the old ladies’ tables were giving the “formal” stuff. And remembering back to my shower the everyday stuff that we received is still the stuff I use every day. A cutting board with studs to hold the meat in place (four friends went in on that), I still use my assortment of tongs, spatulas…etc. And the thing that I use 10 daily: a Wilton pitcher. I fill it up with water and pour the water into the dog’s drinking bowl.
The sweet gift that made me cry? My mother’s mom died much to early. I never met her. My mother gave me the only thing that she had from her mother’s kitchen: a bottle opener. We use it constantly…which sounds a bit like alcoholics…but not.
