<p>That was after my time- the campus was still in the Vietnam war era back when I was there, although no riots closing the campus like in the '60’s- I saw the cops in full riot gear waiting for a rumored protest in front of Social Science one spring day of my freshman year. Frivolous pranks came later.</p>

<p>Michael Kienitz, <a href="mailto:photo4u@michaelkienitz.com">photo4u@michaelkienitz.com</a>, the photographer of the pink flamingos going up Bascom Hill, is still in Madison, and I bought my very own copy of the photograph from him. I think he also took the picture of the Statute of Liberty.</p>
