Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston

Well, I surely don’t get the point of abstinence once you have done the deed, have a son together and are getting married. But that’s just me. But maybe it allows her to be a spokesperson for money. :D

Bristol and Levi’s on again off again relationship is probably no more trashy than many other teen parents - or teen couples for that matter. I wasn’t sexually active as a teen, but I would have hated to have had my various boyfriend issues broadcast to others. Teen romance just should not make the national news, period.

I agree that “teen romance should not make the national news,” missypie. However, this is no longer just teen romance for Bristol and Levi; it’s a money-making endeavor, also known as a career. They have followed Sarah’s lead and demanded to be paid for the trashy entertainment they had previously been providing for free.

What endorsement deals do you think they will be going for if the Candies Foundation abstinence spokesperson position is no longer an option? Trojan, perhaps? Or maybe development of the Real Housewives of Alaska is in the works and Bristol is positioning herself for a role?

I am more bothered by Century 21 maternity clothes than I am about Palin’s daughter. C21 is one of my 16 yr old’s favorite stores. we were going to visit it in San Francisco. Now, I’d rather picket in front of it (apropriate location, I suppose!)
As for Palin not knowing about this reconciliation, it’s hard to believe. Sarah Palin seems so controlling.

It’s a never ending trashy cycle. They are able to make money because someone is willing to pay them money because some of us are apparently interested in them…

Wonder how Bristol would do on Dancing with the Stars (since Kate paved the way for using it as a means for a single mother to make ends meet.)

I see Levi as a potential future Governor of the State of Alaska.

Is a GED required for that job?

I think Century 21 is real estate. Forever 21 is teen clothing. :)

Forever 21 not Century 21

oops, you’re right MWC! Haven’t had my coffee yet!

Not hard to believe at all! Palin’s family has always taken a back seat to her career.

My out-loud laugh of the day.

I do hope they can sincerely come together since they have the son. I also hope that they don’t have another for some time. They should grow up first. The fact that they didn’t tell SP about it first is not a good sign IMO.

Well…lets all wish them the best. I know I do.

As for telling SP–I gather she’s made her attitude towards Levi clear. Now, he’s done some pretty dreadful things. However, dragging him to the Republican convention with his “fiancee” when, from all accounts, he was adamantly opposed to going, probably had a lot to do with his “attitude.” Plus, it is self-evident that Palin herself was pregnant when she married Todd, so I’m sure the hypocrisy got to him.

I’m pro-life, so I also admit that I’m glad they had the child rather than deciding on abortion. He certainly is beautiful in that photo!

Palin herself makes me ill.

“I surely don’t get the point of abstinence once you have done the deed, have a son together and are getting married.”

If you have trouble handling birth control, then the advantage of abstinence is obvious.

I wish them all the best.

Hanna, that’s true. Though if they are mature enough to be having sex, raising a baby or getting married, they should be able to handle birth control at this point.

Even when they do get married, if they don’t want more kids right away, they will have to use birth control. At that point, I don’t think they would be practicing abstinence.

It makes a perverse sort of sense that they might have told the media before telling S Palin. If it’s out of the bag and public, it would be more difficult for Sarah to forbid or otherwise delay/discourage the marriage. None of us knows to what extent she might have been involved in the break-up to begin with.

Could a reality tv show be far off?

Any ideas for good (or bad) names for the show? I’m drawing a blank right now, but I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere.

Hmmm . . . what does Bristol rhyme with? Pistol, crystal, pistil . . . Okay, I’m not coming up with anything that way. How about a limerick?

I think it’s best, in a situation like this where both parents are present and willing, for him to live with both of them. I wish them and, especially the baby, all the best.

Century 21 is also the name of the terrific off price store in lower Manhattan and a few other locations.
