Just saw on the news today that Bristol and Levi are getting back together and all I have to say is WOW!

While I want to be happy for them, part of me is sort of suspicious on Levi’s part on why he would want to come back to Bristol. I hope this isn’t a publicity stunt because Sarah Palin is so popular now. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not sure (if i were a girl), I would want to marry someone who once called my (or “our”) child “■■■■■■■■”.

Guess this explains his unexpected public apology to Palin last week and his admission that he lied about some things regarding their family. I hope it is a long engagement.

One oddity in the US Weekly article news release is that the couple says they haven’t told Bristol’s mom yet. Now, of course, it is out there in the news and so Sarah Palin knows now but it seems odd the couple was telling the magazine before Bristol’s parents. The Palin parents have now released a statement.

In a kinda sorta related news story, the teen clothing chain Forever 21 announced today that it is going to sell maternity clothes…they are rolling out their maternity line in the three states with the highest teen pregnancy rates.

Yikes…I’m reading a book right now about a teen pregnancy pact between 4 high school girls - it already feels too close to comfort with 2 teenagers and 1 post-teenager around the house! Interesting about Forever 21 - that place is arranged so random anyway, I hope they can keep the maternity wear seperate somehow…

It depresses me beyond words that young women care so little about their futures that they are willing to bring children into the world before they are independent, self reliant adults. I’m not against single mother’s (I was one myself, aged 28), but the FANTASY of being pregnant must be SO alluring that they have NO IDEA what they are getting themselves into by getting pregnant so young.

I wonder if Bristol and Levi got paid by Us Weekly for the story/photo related to their engagement.

If Bristol was paid by Candies Foundation to be an abstinence spokesperson, how will that income stream be impacted if she is living with Levi during an “engagement”?

On the Today Show, the lady from Us magazine said she could not comment on whether they were paid for the story, but did confirm that they were paid for the photo shoot.

They also said they would be going to marriage counseling…that’s a real vote of confidence (or realism) - knowing you’ll be going to marriage counseling when the engagement is announced!
