Broadway Shows

We have threads for tv and for movies, but I don’t think we have anything active for Broadway or Off-Broadway Shows. Anyway, I’m pretty transparent about living in Nashville for the last 3 years and I haven’t seen a Broadway show in NYC since shortly after I moved here. However, last night I was a lucky duck in getting to see Dolly! in previews. It was a fabulous evening celebrating one of America’s treasures! There was someone from “production” sitting behind the couple next to me and I heard him say it was slated to open on Broadway, but didn’t catch the exact date. It closes here on 8/31.

The three young leads playing little Dolly, young Dolly & grown-up Dolly were all wonderful and the show is both amusing and touching throughout. The second act is especially delightful since it is the one top heavy with the songs that Dolly Parton fans love. If you are in the NYC area and a theater goer, you are going to have an excellent opportunity to enjoy soon!

For a hot minute, I thought you were referencing a “Hello Dolly “ revival.

I would love to see that show!

I am a huge Broadway fan. I don’t get to NYC too often (although I was there in June and finally saw Book of Mormon), but I am fortunate to live in the Bay Area where we regularly get Broadway shows - both in San Francisco and San Jose. I recently saw & Juliet in SF and had a great time - super cute show.

That show was in Nashville during the last season and I’m sorry I didn’t make the effort to see it. Glad you enjoyed it:)
