Great to see so many BFA-MTs make it to the finals! Two from Pace, two from Texas State, and one each from CCM, Shenandoah, Western Carolina and the University Of Michigan.

Completing the top ten: NYU (BFA-Drama) and the Manhattan School of Music.

Thrilled to announce that Shenandoah Conservatory’s Jordan McCaskill won the contest! So proud of our students and all they continue to accomplish.

Congrats to all!! As far as I know, no one from D’s school entered any of these various MT contests this year. I wonder if this is in part because they are on quarters and don’t graduate until late June.

Are most MT programs finished for the year by now?

MomCares, my daughter never entered any of these contests.

In any case, most colleges, MT or otherwise, are typically done for this school year by now. Your D’s school, with the quarter system, is one of the exceptions. I think most college kids are out for the summer now. Most college graduations have taken place or will have within the next week.

I still have no idea as to what this program is all about!

Any trimester or quarter school (and there are many more than you think) are still in school for at least another week or two. Those on semester schedules are done for the year.

Actually, this competition was not college based. Some of them like Tyler McKenzie are already professional actors. I believe he’s in the touring company of Mamma Mia.

I realize it wasn’t college based, but found it interesting that as far as I know no students from D’s school entered (although several recent grads have already booked Broadway contracts). I assume that’s due to the fact that they were still (insanely) busy with school.
