Bronx Science VS Stuyvesant in terms of college acceptance

Deciding on SHSAT rankings and wondering if anyone has insight and college acceptance between Stuyvesant and Bronx Science? Which school does better with multiple acceptances at elite or Ivies? THX

Colleges admit students, not high schools.

If a college rejects an applicant from Stuy, they would have rejected them if they attended Bronx Science. And vice versa. Not a reason to select a HS.

So they idea of big fish in a little pond vs little fish in a big pond doesn’t apply for college acceptance? ( not in terms of bronx sci & stuy but in general terms)

Not applicable in Stuy vs Bronx. And probably not applicable in Stuy vs Groton. In genetal, the choice of HS is less important than maximizing the opportunities that are available.

I currently attend Stuyvesant. You should rank the school you would most like to attend first. Do not worry about college. Any college that you can get into from Stuy you can also get into from Bronx Science.

Thank you. Commuting is a big factor too, as one is much closer than the other.

That’s a super important factor to consider! It’s not worth commuting hours to any school.

Prioritize your commute. There are likely to be big MTA budget cuts in the coming year which will impact the frequency of service and possibly bus route cuts. There is not enough of a difference between the two schools to sacrifice your quality of life.

Totally agree. Both are excellent schools but unless your commute is equally bad, let your commute time be a huge factor.

I personally preferred the vibe at BxSci but I wasn’t the one picking.

Just saying, the Dean of Admissions at UChicago does Stuy himself.
