Brooks School of Public Policy - Undergrad

Does anyone have any personal information about Cornell’s new-ish Brooks School of Public Policy undergrad program? Their webpage doesn’t have a lot of information. Any idea how competitive it is?

I believe students can pursue public policy either directly through Brooks or through the College of Human Ecology. Because of these dual pathways, public policy may represent one of the university’s more accessible majors. In any case, the program, especially when combined with Cornell’s available semester in Washington, is highly regarded.

Brooks had a 9.8% acceptance rate for Class of 2027, while HumEc had an 11% acceptance rate: Undergraduate admissions - Institutional Research & Planning

Both are reaches so pick where you fit best. HumEc doesn’t have a public policy major although they do have a global and public health major. Brooks and HumEc share access to many courses, see more at the links below:

Please note that CHE offers a public policy major through its partnership with Brooks.

I don’t see that major listed on that page you linked…I see the note that these schools (HumEc and Brooks) share access to courses, but the last sentence says the Public Policy major is in Brooks.

Also note on the common app, Public Policy is not a choice of major in HumEc. The major choices on the common app are the seven listed on the page you linked, as well as undeclared.
