<p>if i were an adcom, i would find it plain offensive that u even mentioned it. it’s not like being a donating legacy, which actually means something, but it is like u r searching for something, however random, which will ‘buy’ ur way in.</p>
<p>Being related to an employee actually can help sometimes at some colleges- some ask about it directly (don’t remember which exactly, but I believe at least JHU does). But they’re usually looking for, say, a parent who’s a professor or administrator. Being the sibling of someone who works part time in the graduate school? Not worth putting in.</p>
