@llinrs Thank you! I hope you also get into all of your schools, what major are you going for? The interview went super well it was like an informal conversation she just asked me to tell her about myself, what I hope to study and all that.
My app also has the withdrawal option and I wouldn’t worry too much about the interview. My veteran mentor graduated from Brown last year and said the interview doesn’t influence the admissions decision very much.
@gobigorgohome4 Thanks, I appreciate the peace of mind! I’m going for an Economics major, for all schools except Cornell. For Cornell I applied to the School of Hotel Administration.
Hey Guys! I had my interview this after and it went very well. My interviewer was an alum of the 90’s and she was great! I had a good feeling at the end of my interview and she was excited for me and my future endeavors. Hopefully it will be enough to get me into Brown!! I really hope I get in!!!
Hello all,
I am also a RUE 2020 applicant. Currently Active Duty Marine Corps.
I had my interview on the 24th, with a 1995 grad. He emailed me a couple of days prior to let me choose a time and date to Skype/Zoom. Lasted 45 min exactly, many questions but all on a rolling basis…why Brown, why I chose to serve, why this specific branch, what have I learned, how have I grown, what do I have to offer, etc.
Really nice convo, nothing crazy.
He said I should be “hearing back shortly”, but I know the decisions come out first week of May.
So anxious. Ahhh.
@llinrs Oh sweet, I am too! Most colleges I applied to are for economics but a couple are for finance or other undergrad business degrees.
@ebordi Good to see someone else is active duty on here! When do you officially get out? And if you don’t mind me asking what are your stats and where else did you apply?
I go on terminal in June, official EAS is July 5th.
No worries at all! Just a brief “list” about me-
Immigrated from Ukraine, I am alone in the United States, no family
Fluent in 3 languages
Went to high school in NYC…honors, AP, captain of volleyball team, president of moot court/mock trial, HS average about a 92.
Earned an Associate of Arts while on active duty. GPA 3.34, Dean’s List.
5 years active duty…communications chief
Received multiple awards for “superior performance” in the Marine Corps
Over 300+ volunteer hours
Hold a Professional Military Education instructor billet- solely mentored and trained over 600 Marines.
I did not submit an SAT score as I took it 7/8 years ago.
Brown University is my first choice. I’ve been dreaming of attending this school forever. I’ve applied to Yale’s Eli Whitney, Georgetown, Fordham, Rutgers, Columbia, UF, and LIU.
How about you?
@horizon2020 Not getting an interview doesnt mean you are out of the running. Many students from previous years were offered admittance without an interview while many who got the interview didn’t get in.
My checklist is gone! My portal says: In preparation for releasing admission decisions in early May, the checklist on your Brown portal is no longer available for viewing.
