@Rainbow0404 I surprisingly did a lot actually. I first sent in a LOCI to my ao. I then got two additional recommendations from teachers who would show a different side of me than my original recommenders from regular decision. I had my counselor also send in a note saying that I would absolutely attend if admitted. I did all this in April and then around the second week of May, I sent my ao a short email updating her on things I’ve been doing in the past month and restated my absolute interest as well as the ability to commit to being in the class of 2024.
@oddrawing did your AO respond to your email? I sent one to mine and she hasn’t gotten back to me.
@sarahs2716 Mine did in fact respond both times with very kind emails. I wouldn’t read too much into it though because it could all just depend on your specific ao.
@oddrawing Congratulations!
Did you have your additional letters of recs sent in directly to the office of admissions email or did you upload them to your portal yourself?
And do you mind me asking if you’re full pay?
@kodyclaytonedu Thanks! I had my letter of recs sent directly by my teachers. I believe there is a specific email on the Brown website somewhere for additional recommendations, and so I had them sent it to that. And yes, I am full pay.
I assume you cannot take a gap year if you are accepted off the waitlist, right?
do you guys think brown will start sending regret letters early as Harvard did? I really wanna keep my hopes up, but I’m desperate at this point haha
@harrypotterluv If the waitlist really is being extended until mid-July, then I think it will take longer
hey! Question for you and for anyone else who wants to answer. I wrote a loci and just uploaded it into my portal, but I see a bunch of you guys talking about emailing your specific admissions officers. How did you get your own ao?? Idk how to do that haha
@Casmen33 https://admission.brown.edu/ask/admission-officers/united-states
this should help^
@Casmen33 btw I also uploaded my loci through the portal and my regional ao still receives it, emailing the specific ao is more or less just a confirmation that your documents will be viewed
@34dr5 thanks so much!! Truly appreciate it
I wonder how many have been admitted off the waitlist so far. Seems like it’s going deep. Any word on if Brown is letting students take a gap year?
Has anyone called the office to ask if there will be anymore waves?
I uploaded my LOCI to my portal. Should I send it to my AO along with more recent information about myself or should I just wait it out?
@anthomax I mentioned this in an earlier reply, but even if you upload it through your portal, your specific ao still receives your information. you should also put your additional information in your portal as well
Any updates?
Did anyone get off the waitlist today? Anybody know when the next wave is probably going to be released?
Just an FYI, transfer deadline to commit just passed, so now they might start looking to take people off of the transfer waitlist.
any updates?
