If you are referring to the students off the waitlist, May 3. We were given 10 days. My D already committed.
Does anyone know how many have been waitlisted this year? and how many they will be taking?
@BobbyMaye They said there would be around a thousand and it’s impossible to know how many they’d be taking, but I read this year a lot will be deferring or rejecting so there is a higher chance to get out of the waitlist. Although idk on which basis they are deciding. I’m international and I applied to financial aid. Does anyone here know if that matters?
@madlad I heard it’s more advantageous to be full pay for the waitlist. Plus you’re international, and I’m not sure if Brown was need-blind for internationals in the first place, which was already a factor in regular admissions. Best of luck to you thought?
Does anyone know when the next wave is for accepting off of the waitlist? I heard May 1st but I’m not sure.
@shinemf101 Thank you! I hope that they don’t consider my ability to pay too much. I pretty much need a full ride, but they didn’t reject me so I guess I have a small chance. Brown is need-aware for internationals.
I heard the same. The next wave is supposed to be May 1st at around noon, but there’s no way to be sure.
Where did you hear May 1st from?
Dean of admissions predicted back on March 26 that there will be roughly 800 active students this year. So yeah probably around that to 1000.
How did you and @shinemf101 hear about the May 1 thing?
@kodyclaytonedu It was just a rumor I heard, maybe on this site or Reddit, but I’m pretty sure it’s based on the fact that the people admitted on this thread heard back from Brown this past Friday.
@shinemf101 I was under the impression that waitlist waves are every 10 days. Are they weekly?
@coffee2020 I know that 10 days is the amount of time people get to commit to the waitlist. I’m not sure if that’s the timeframe for the waves though, and I doubt anyone else has any concrete information, but you could be right.
Has anyone heard anything yet?
@BobbyMaye I didn’t and seems like today was not the wave.
@madlad gotcha, thanks for letting me know; this anxiety is not healthy, I will say
@BobbyMaye I know man, every day I’m checking my email and portal and it’s just driving me crazy.
@madlad I’m going crazy about when we’ll hear back too. Do you know if anyone else has been accepted from the waitlist besides the people from this thread?
@shinemf101 Nope, I tried to find in Brown’s subreddit but seems like anyone else is saying anything about Brown’s waitlist
Brown took a huge financial toll and all across the country colleges are going much deeper into the waitlist; there can’t possibly be only 1 wave before May 1st right?
Anyone know when the next wave is supposed to be?
no clue
has anyone tried calling admissions perhaps to see? I’m sure they were waiting for until after May 1st anyway, so there’s nothing for us to worry about… I’m way too anxious about this
