On Brown’s website ( <a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University; ), one can find the comments: “The application deadline for both Semester I (September) and Semester II (January) is April 1, 2005.,” and “Candidates for entry in either semester should submit their completed applications and the $70 application fee no later than April 1.” In contrast, the deadlines for each form, as listed in the “transfer instructions,” indicate a March 1st deadline. Can someone perhaps reconcile this apparent contradiction?

Yes, I too stumbled upon this change a few days ago, we commented on this on another post, dicussing that the reason may be due to more freshman applicants they are allowing more time for transfer applications, since the same people who do freshman admissions also do transfer admissions. I think the only issue with this is a possible later notification time.

Doesn’t really make sense - if they had so many freshman apps laying around the school they couldn’t get to the transfer apps, why would they want more of them?
