Thank you. My son got in the ED with Brown. It is his dream school.
We are praying for Brown’s community from last week’s event.

I know there’s been speculation about IDOC requests and whether it’s a “sign” you’re more likely to be accepted.
In our case, D26 was accepted and we never received an IDOC request.

My reply wasnt aimed at you specifically but I saw it in this thread and it’s a popular myth on Reddit.
I dont want people to be stressed if they didnt get an IDOC request.
For everyone next year, IDOC was NOT indicative of acceptance. Received one mid-November and was deferred. Am hoping for the best in RD.
Good luck. If I remember correctly, Brown isnt one of those schools that defers a ton of students. They reject a lot more than they defer so fingers crossed. You’re probably going to be seriously considered in the RD round.
I really hope so! Thanks.
my daughter got deferred, shall we just wait or may be write to them?
Most deferred applicants send a letter of continued interest(LOCI). You still won’t hear anything about a decision until late March, so there is no hurry to get it done. Be sure to include any new updates that may be relevant(1st semester grades, any new awards, etc.).
Thanks!
Happy New Year 2026!
Soo grateful for my DD acceptance to Brown University ED 2030.![]()
Congratulations! If you’re on Facebook, there’s a Brown Parents and Guardians page that has lots of useful info on dorms, move in, etc. It’s a wonderful community, she will love it!
Thanks so much! You’re the best!!
