Does Brown start looking at applications before the deadline? Or do they start now? Any “signs” of acceptance for portal updates/others?
Has anyone who applied for FA received an IDOC request today? It seems like many applicants got one yesterday and today. I’m wondering if Brown changed its IDOC policy and is now requesting it from everyone?
I got one. Is it no longer indicative of an acceptable?
I’m not sure either. Many applicants got IDOC requests yesterday so I was wondering if Brown might’ve changed its IDOC policy this year.

Getting an IDOC request is not nor has ever been an indication of an acceptance. Anything you read to the contrary is anecdotal at best.
People are talking about this “astrology” is because, among those who applied for FA, there have been a lot more cases of students being admitted after receiving an IDOC request than those admitted without one. No one believes it’s an actual indicator of admission

My DD got the request yesterday. A lot of students in my area received the IDOC request yesterday in the same time. That’s why I was wondering

In previous years, many who were accepted received an IDOC. I’ve heard it’s a phenomenon unique to Brown. But it could easily be untrue.

Does anyone know if IDOC requests happen on a rolling basis? Haven’t received one yet and hoping i’m not completely out of the game yet 
In the past, Brown handled IDOCs on a rolling basis, but this year it feels like Brown pulled them all at once in a big lump. I’m guessing they might be doing it in waves — similar to a waitlist process. Don’t worry too much. Request will probably come soon. Maybe IDOC astrology will be less meaningful this year, considering a lot students received the request.

Thank you!! So what you’re saying is that there will be larger clumps of requests and not rolling requests?
Don’t stress!! I’ve seen posts from last year of people getting in without one. And then people getting rejected with one.

Whether it comes in rolling batches or waves (my guessing),the IDOC requests will definitely keep coming.

After submitting the IDOC, should the docs appear in the Brown FA portal? Or should it just say FAFSA and CSS received?
