The number from Jul 2025 was 15.6K and I was cristising Brown for being stingy.
Now I got 86.7K using similar number. (200K income, 30K income tax, 100K each parent, 20K saving and 300K assets from 2nd home)
This is crazy. How it is possible? System glitch?
I think the system has glitch. Even 500K income gives same aid.
Brown’s NPC has been extremely glitchy for us. I can get random numbers out of it with tiny perturbations. It’s the most finicky of all the NPCs that I’ve used.
Yeah, I ran the Brown NPC last week & got a net price of under $10k (every other school is between $40-70k with the same inputs). Something is seriously off.
It appears that something is very wrong with the calculator. I suggest contacting the school.
I have also had issues with Brown’s NPC. MyIntuition on their webpage gives us like 40k aid then their NPC says full pay. Our combined income is a bit above 200K. It basically scared us away from my kid applying there next fall.
Don’t use MyIntuition for any school. It’s just not accurate enough (partly because it doesn’t ask all the relevant questions) and often gives huge ranges that are unhelpful.
Everyone who is having issues with the Brown NPC should contact Brown FA and communicate that. It’s unacceptable. Ask them if they can give you a fin aid pre-read. Because their NPC isn’t able to.
