I was just accepted as a transfer student to Brown, where I plan to study art history and French. I’ve been researching Brown, and also looking out for different graduate schools since it will be time to apply to those before too long. One video I watched on YouTube said that Brown students rarely prefer Georgetown University. I want a master’s degree in art and museum studies, and Georgetown is near the top of my list. Anyone know why Brown students don’t prefer Georgetown? What other grad schools would you suggest one study art and museum studies, if not Georgetown?

It is very hard to parse this statement without any context, and also a little bit hard to understand what you’re asking.

At the graduate level, students will choose whatever grad schools they want. Brown can set you up well to be admitted to any graduate school so if you have your heart on Georgetown then you’ll be fine. Just because some random video said that Brown students don’t prefer Georgetown’s museum studies program probably means very, very little.

At the undergrad level, students generally prefer Brown to Georgetown.

Georgetown doesn’t have a highly ranked program in art history (in fact, the NRC doesn’t seem to rate it at all). The best graduate programs for art history are at Columbia, NYU, Yale, UCLA, MIT, etc. (try this link: [NRC Rankings Overview: History of Art, Architecture and Archaeology - Faculty - The Chronicle of Higher Education](<a href=“NRC Rankings Overview: History of Art, Architecture and Archaeology”>NRC Rankings Overview: History of Art, Architecture and Archaeology)). So maybe Brown students don’t like Georgetown because they want to go to the best schools?
