Does Brown offer certificate programs like Harvard? Also if one takes a summer course, what’s the point if your from a visiting university? Do you get a certification? Thanks!

Brown does not offer a similar program to Harvard’s certificate program, as far as I can glean from the Harvard website.

I can think of 2 reasons to take a summer course at Brown as a student from another university. If you want enrichment in an area only Brown offers (or with an exemplary professor teaching at Brown), then that might be one reason. Also, if your university offers credit for such a course, then there are several reasons, including a change of scenery or Brown teaching the course differently than your home university.

Brown students occasionally take Orgo elsewhere, although they don’t technically receive credit (I think). As far as I know, they do receive placement, though.

Brown does offer summer sessions. They vary on whatever field you are interested in.
Two of my good friends spent 3 weeks there this summer (though I know there are 6 week programs as well) and the both loved it!
