Brown supplement

Im just wondering on the last question of the supplement where it gives you an option on the question, the why are you going to college choice, can/should i change my response to tailor more to why are you applying to brown?

You could add in some of that in the end, but be sure to fully answer the question of why you’re going to college in the first place. It’s an interesting question.

Im not really sure what to do with this question then, am i suppose to be creative with my answer or am i suppose to spell out the obvious things that would the main reasons for anyone to go to college? (Ex: future career, being further educated, becoming more well rounded as a person

Why do you want to spend thousands to go to school for the next 4 years rather than get a job that doesn’t require education? Obviously you can’t just say you want to make more money, so you have to be clever in thinking of what else college will do for you. Brown is a pretty quirky university - they don’t want to be full of drones who only take financial classes and learn how to manipulate the stock market. What will the education do for your professional and personal future?
