Brown Transfer Fall 2020

i feel like it’s highly unlikely theyd only take spring transfers lol …

in general colleges are businesses, I think they’d happily take our tuition dollars even if classes are online this fall so I don’t quite see why they’d cut fall transfers out

I agree. I wouldn’t listen to that other person’s post (you also can’t trust anyone with that many typos lol). If anything, colleges would be more inclined to take transfers because we can’t defer admission.

Yes, it’s unlikely and unprecedented to only take spring transfers. However, it would be just as unprecedented to accept half as many sophomore transfers (since sophomores are the only ones who get accepted for fall OR spring). Ultimately, nobody has any verifiable information on this, so it’s useless to speculate and say that they’ll accept half as many.

Email!!

Just got an email. Checklist will disappear May 4th, and another email will be sent later to notify us of the decision release date.

Just got an email from Brown. Monday May 4th the checklist will disappear

So the date of decision is not out yet but the checklist is said to disappear next Monday on May 4th, 12 pm EST. They will be later emailing us with the actual date.

Im thinking then we will find out mid next week like maybe Wednesday or next Friday?!

Just got the email no checklist starting may 4 at 12 EST

omg email

Brown said after May 4th the checklist will disappear

do you all think that we will receive a decision on may 4 when the checklist disappears?

Not to be pessimistic, but Wesleyan this year only accepted 50 transfers from a pool of 500. Last year they accepted 130 transfers. It’s possible that Brown and other schools might accept less or more. I think it all depends on space, what freshman yield is looking like, financials, etc.

my suspicion is that we’ll find out next thursday if we follow the pattern of last year. it seems like they’re on track to do the same
(email sent out the 26th, on a friday, checklist disappeared 3 days later on the 29th, and they found out may 2nd, on a thursday).

Georgetown accepted 33% more transfers this year with roughly the same amount of applicants. I would pay little attention to how LACs are treating transfers–they are notoriously discriminant towards transfers.

At this moment I don’t think there’s any point for us to predict what they’re gonna do or how many people they are gonna accept. All we need to do is to be patient and wait. Good luck to everyone!

I’m very nervous, but glad this will soon come to an end

Just the get a rough idea, how many of you guys applied for FA? Like in general what percentage of applicants do you think apply for FA? I feel that this might be a bigger factor now than usual

Did not apply for FA
