Brown Transfer from Boston Univeristy

Hi

I go to BU as School of Management and I am predicting my GPA to be 3.65

I have 34 ACT Score and horrible high school GPA (like 3.8 weighted)

I don’t really have omg-it’s-so-fabulous kind of EC and I think I can get a fine recommendation

Do I still have a chance to get into Brown as East Asian Studies, IR, or political science?

Once you are in college, it is your college GPA that will matter. If you are a first semester freshman currently at BU, it would be pretty difficult to predict your GPA until after finals! You will have to be convincing to Brown that you know why you fit better at Brown, and why you want to transfer/ what you will be “bringing” to Brown. Ie the question that you will see over and over “why Brown?” As far as concentrations at Brown, it may be difficult even as an entering sophomore to complete an IR major due to the high number of required courses in the revised concentration. Look over the different concentration requirements carefully in deciding/preparing this transfer application decision.

How high should my GPA be? And will my ACT matter? What if I get 3.65 GPA and 34 ACT

As a potential transfer, you should be aiming to knock the first year of college out of the park. Brown is an extremely selective school, and I’m not sure that 3.65 qualifies as ‘hitting it out of the park’.

What makes you want to go to Brown?
