Has anyone who applied to PLME heard back?

The BDL reports 22 were accepted into PLME.

know many unhooked (highly qualified) females - denied / deferred.

We are pretty sad at my house but on to other great schools and options-- hopefully.

Do you see the status of your video introduction in your Brown portal? I do not see it.

no, it’s not there anymore

Don’t take it too personally, for most applicants, it comes down to how the AO/Committee felt on a particular day, and whatever other institutional priorities they had.

Congrats to the admits, everyone else moves on to other pastures they will hopefully like as much

wait, is the lack of video submission confirmation in the portal a sign that i’m not being considered anymore despite being deferred??

I agree not to take it personally. And that institutional priorities come into play. The reality is that they could take another group (2nd or 3rd choice applicants) and have just as successful students. That’s one of the reasons that they become lottery ticket schools.

Admissions officers are professionals - and while their ā€œmoodā€ on a given day may have a small impact, the committee process is designed to remove those biases and potential personal impacts.

I think an admissions officer would be highly insulted by that statement.

I will be direct, I would ignore Nivo’s comment. It is not accurate or indicative of anything.

His daughter was rejected so not sure of his basis for comment beyond speculation.

You were deferred and your candidacy is still being considered. Stay strong and fingers crossed.

Brown’s ā€œinstitutional prioritiesā€ extend well beyond Nico’s prior suggestion that only athletes, URMs, legacy and faculty kids get in. It is readily observable when you spend time on campus so please stay hopeful but prepared.

I just realized that Mid year report is a seperate form that my councelor needs to fill, and its past the deadline. Anyone knows what other schools want this form?

I’m pretty sure the common app information page for each college tells whether the midyear report is required. The counselor just uploads it once, and then any school that wants it will download it from the common app.

My counselor had not uploaded one, other colleges had this besides the mid year transcript too but only Brown had it on the requirements checklist on the portal.

It seems to me regrettably chaotic whether or not colleges put this on their portal checklist.

Not sure what you meant, I hope they still consider my document past the deadline.
