<p>Yes it is too controversial. It may put the reader in an uncomfortable position especially if the reader does not follow your faith.</p>
<p>I don’t know. I think if you’re a good writer and you can be tactful about it, the risk might be worth it. It depends on what context you’re writing about God in. Also, hopefully the reader will be able to judge your essay on the basis of writing ability, rather than on content.</p>
