<p>I want to go to Brown university, I have my IB scores at roughly 40+ and my sat’s 2010, would that be sufficient? Im a citizen and Im a florida resident but I dont think university of florida would be much to look at, or am I wrong?</p>

<p>Brown is very difficult to get into, unless you have some very spectacular qualities. Just a lot of people applying for a small number of slots.</p>

<p>My advice to you is to get a copy of the Fiske Guide to Colleges. Look for some schools that interest you, and visit a few campuses. Pick some schools where your stats (test scores in particular) are around the 50% mark or better. You have have a couple of reaches (like Brown) where you are not very likely to get admitted, and a safety or two where you are sure to get in and you know you can afford to attend. </p>

<p>In addition to your stats, consider the following when reviewing Fiske:

  • What major(s) are you interested in?
  • What size school do you want?
  • Urban vs. suburban vs. rural
  • Any extra curriculars that are important to you?</p>
