I know m GPA is obviously awful, but that’s because of my freshman and sophomore years I didn’t do well. I always took the hardest courses available to me. I’m going into my senior year with a major upward trend.

I’m curious about Brown especially because they take a very holistic view of potential students.

Thanks

Brown: Low reach

It really helps that you are a URM (minority), but that GPA and the lack of lots of ECs is going to hurt you. What is your course load? Any APs? If you aren’t taking APs and you don’t write absolutely phenomenal essays, unfortunately, I don’t think your chances are very good.

APs: US Hist, Psych, Physics B.

I’ll take AP English & AP Econ next year.

Brown: High reach to out of reach due to GPA

Yeah, the APs will help, but that GPA is unfortunately really going to hurt you. I would say Brown is a pretty high reach, but you might be a good match for some top-tier non-Ivy schools.

thats good!
