Unable to afford to go to Babson or Bentley unfortunately. Currently at Stonehill. Reviews for Bryant and if you think it’s worth transferring or not. Thank you!
please someone help
Would Bryant cost much less than Babson or Bentley? Would Bryant be affordable for you? Why do you want to transfer from Stonehill?
I cant go to Babson or Bentley as too expensive. Bryant would be cheapest option. Stonehill is right next to Brockton and I do not find myself fitting in with the people there. also, very boring and a liberal arts school. I wanted to go to a better school and wasn’t sure if Bryant had a better reputation.
Bryant is better but is it affordable? Have you been admitted?
yes very affordable and i was admitted. Acceptance rate for bryant is so high though so surprised.
Self selected pool.
Very very good for business. (I assume that’s your major? )
If you are admitted and it’s affordable, jump on the opportunity.
what does self selected pool mean??
It seems that you answered your own question in post #3 if you don’t see Stonehill being a good fit for you and it is more expensive. Just recognize that transferring is not always so easy as many friendships etc. are made freshman year – but if you aren’t happy and have a cheaper option you feel is better then it may be worth it.
A self-selected pool means that it tends to attract students who have very similar character traits. In the cases of Babson, Bentley and Bryant, the applicant pools tend to be students who are 100% sure that business is going to be their major and career path down the road.
And yes, Bryant>Stonehill academically and otherwise. It’d be a good transfer IMO.
Bryant is also nationally prominent in lacrosse, which I assume from your name is appealing. Looks like you’re gonna be a Bulldog.
Bryant is an excellent school for business—if it’s affordable, you’re unhappy at your current school, and business is what you want to do, I would absolutely endorse transferring.
Its too bad CC does not have a subforum for Bryant. Its more popular than many other school that have their own subforum here.
^ I have been making that complaint to the admins for years. There are colleges a fraction the size of Bryant, with literally no posts for years, that have their own subforum.
Fine school for business and lacrosse. If that’s appealing, go for it! Good luck!
I really like Stonehill with the liberal arts education and AACSB accredited. Lots of internships and great job placement. You need to find the right fit but I think Stonehill is a great school
Bryant is going to be Top 10 in USNEWS probably this time in Northeast Universities with Villanova leaving; it’s AACSB of course and outstanding career placement. What is your major?
Also, any AACSB accredited b-school can only have 50% of its classes in business so you have to do some liberal arts (Arts & Sciences) for any business (Bentley and Babson roll them into one college while Bryant breaks it out with a separate A&S college. Bryant’s going to have a bigger alum pool simply based on size and the fact it’s 80% business. Bryant has brand spanking new Academic Building and now top of the line athletic facilities (at least according to what I read in Boston College thread where alums were pointing to Bryant’s new facilities and asking why not at BC!). If you are into sports, I read somewhere that Bryant set a record for a new D1 NCAA school with something like 6 or 7 teams making the NCAA tourney (baseball is good, m/w lacrosse, golf/tennis).
I think since business is in general decline (that’s the counter cyclical nature of business interest to the economy) many schools (even Bentley, Loyola, PC, Fairfield) in that USNEWS category have seen selectivity go down relative to 5-10 years ago.
You can look at all the numbers, but you can’t discount fit. Good luck!
