Bryn Mawr College Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

This is the official thread for those applying ED to Bryn Mawr College.

List your unweighted GPA, any SAT /ACT scores, and ECs. What majors are you going into?
Ask your questions, the CC community is here to help!

Where is everyone this year? I am so excited about Bryn Mawr I’m visiting campus monday to do my interview. Here are some of my stats:
5 AP classes
4 Dual Enrollment classes
1 IB class
and who even knows how many honors classes
SAT: 1390
ACT:34
Very involved in ECs some of which were unique and leadership positions
I loved answering the Bryn Mawr supplemental essay it ended up being my favorite thing I wrote for the whole college application process.
I thankfully had a couple teachers who I was very close with who wrote me what I know will be glowing letters and I chose to include an extra one from an out of school EC.
I can’t wait to hear in december, that’s sooo close! I’ve been lucky to talk to lots of current bryn mawr students and it’s been the most wonderful experience. I know a historically women’s college isn’t for everyone but it’s a perfect fit for me!

Hi!
I am an international applicant who is absolutely in love with Bryn Mawr. Honestly, there is no school that would capture my heart as much as BMC did.
I am applying for ED1.
The only things that concern me are that I need almost full financial aid and go test-optional (for a very valid reason though!). I did a few gap years, but there were reasons and a lot of actions.

My GPA is 3,93/4.
Public school without APs/IBs.
Solid national exam scores (97+ out of 100, while the national average is ~60, if I am not mistaken).
Quite interesting extracurriculars: nothing fantastic yet non-ordinary.

Hopefully I will be lucky enough to bring wonderful news to this thread in December! :love_letter:

My daughter applied ED. We are super excited to hear back, and hopeful! I think that last year people found out on the 16th? We will be going on a cruise that day, so it will either be a really happy trip or a sad mama drinking her sorrows in some daiquiris!

DD is anxiously waiting for the ED decisions to be released! Some of her stats include:
GPA: 4.3/4.0 UW, 5.0/4.0 W
SAT: 1380, ACT 31
7 AP classes, 10+ honors classes
Extra curriculars: NHS (secretary), Key Club (secretary), Student Council, Varsity Cheer, Varsity Track, Orchestra/Chamber Orchestra, theater, and a few more. She attends a small public high school where involved students are expected to participate in a variety of activities.

Best of luck to everyone who applied!

Daughter applied early decision. Received notice this morning that said “We will release admissions decisions online late this week.” So I’m assuming that means Friday.

Her stats:
3.8 u, 4.2 w (includes honors)
ACT 32
8 AP classes
Good activities list with two competitive summer programs (YYGS and CSSSA); leadership in… volunteer org, a cappella, choir, mock trial; softball; an internship and a job.

Considering Environmental Studies or Engineering degree.

Just got the email, decisions come out at 4:00 pm eastern time today! Good luck everyone!

In with the presidential scholarship. My kid said I scared her I screamed so hard. Good luck to everyone!

I’m afraid as well! I asked for a lot of aid and applied test-optional but apparently, I talked to some Bryn Mawr students and they said doing ED was probably better anyway considering the school could at least pay for students they know are guaranteed to go. Let’s hope for the best!

Omg that’s so awesome! Congratulations to her! I’m considering applying ED 2. Can I ask what are your daughter’s stats so I can maybe see if mine match up? Thank you!!

Sure. She had a 4.7w/3.94uw (I think.) I think 10 APs, 2 dual enrollments, and almost all her other classes were honors. 1460 SAT (760v, 700m). Her first two years were at a large public CS program and then she transferred to a small private school. She’s an introvert, so she had ECs that were mostly things she could do on her own, except that she was art editor of lit mag for 3 years. She also worked at a haunted house.

And good luck!!! We were super excited. Bryn Mawr was really her first choice since we visited. And personally I kind of fell in love with all the traditions.

Thank you so much! I just posted a Chance Me link, would you mind taking a look? I’m really anxious about this whole process… Chance Me for Bryn Mawr College and others RD!
Thank you!!

I’m in!
