@starlight27 she also called people to let them know they have been rejected?

Congrats! Way to go @starlight27 so which school are you thinking of going to?

@arsh96- I honestly have no idea. She first called me when I was in class and left a voicemail. So when I called her back, she said that she had to check if I was on the list, implying, I guess, that she wasn’t only contacting accepted students?

@Midhelper- Thank you! I honestly don’t know. Drexel is offering me full ug, NJIT is offering ug+room+board+fees, but BU and Penn state are much better programs. I’m leaning towards penn state but I’ll decide after accepted student days.

Did anybody get an actual call from TCNJ or Rutgers yet or has everyone had to call the undergrads themselves?

Hey Dr. Shevlin just called to say I was accepted to TCNJ/NJMS. He is only calling accepted students. Good luck everyone!!

@starlight27, you are on a winning streak!!! Keep up with the good work.

@starlight27 do you know if everyone who is accepted will be called today?

@starlight27
Awesome! Congratulations and good luck!

@starlight27 Congrats!

Thanks guys!! :)

@rs5638- That is what he implied when I was talking to him, though I’m not 100% sure. I hope he calls! Good luck :)

I emailed Ms. Chipepo from NJIT and she said decisions for the program will be mailed tomorrow.

hi @IMGDAD
my d received waitlist status from UMSI yesterday, and it is still her very top choice. she just loves everything about it. if you were waitlisted as well, are you going to remain on the waitlist to keep it as an option or did your s already email them saying that he doesn’t wish to remain on the waitlist?

thanks a lot

BU SMED vs. UMiami HPME vs. GW BA/MD vs. WashU USP vs. Rice/Baylor MSP???

Rice/Baylor hands down. WashU’s requirements are insane, and while Baylor probably has an MCAT requirement this year, I don’t think it’ll be anything like WashU’s. Baylor is probably the best deal out there for medical school too. You have a fantastic undergrad and wonderful, inexpensive medical school

@houstonrep, my son is not going to remain in the waitlist. Has your daughter been offered a place in any other programs? If she has, she should probably move on unless she does not mind going into Tech for Honors Program and then either wait to see if any student drops out during the undergraduate years, or apply to the Early Assurance Program after finishing her second year. I asked specifically the likelihood that students in the waitlist would be offered and I was told that in the last eight years or so, the program has not needed to offer any to the waitlist because none of those given the place in the first round turned down the offer. Going back to the Early Assurance Program, the likelihood of being offered a place is very high, provided the students have maintained a high GPA (e.g. >3.7). Apparently on average around 10 students apply each year and between 6-8 are accepted.

Stanford vs BS/MD=Bonaventure/GW (No MCAT) vs Union/Albany (No MCAT) vs Miami (MCAT = 34) vs Univ Cincinnati (MCAT= 30) vs UPENN Dental
Costs: Cinci < GW <Miami< Albany
Stanford is UG only.

@sagsabzi1 - congratulations on securing multiple BS/MD admissions.

you should go to Stanford only if - (1) you are not sure you want to be a doctor (2) you have a special reason - e.g., near to home or a potential research project lined up or your life would not be complete without degree from an elite school (3) you wouldn’t mind that med school is possibly 5 years away (4 years of roughing it out in Stanford, plus 1 year of decompression and MCAT prep.

Among other options, I believe Miami has MCAT 32 requirement. Please check. I think Miami is the best combination of rank, program and opportunities, but all these options are good. I personally am not too hot on Bonaventure/GW because Bonaventure is in the middle of nowhere and GW program was on probation not too long ago.

No opinion about UPENN dental.

Good luck.

@sagsabzi1 you got into UPenn dental? When did they let you know? I thought decisions for that were coming out April 7?

Sorry I don’t have info on the other programs except to agree with Late2Party that GW was under probation a while back which makes me think that their education may not be as established and successful as the other schools.

Wow Congrats!

@sagsabzi1 - doctor or dentist as a career might help with you with that decision.

RPI / ALBANY, any idea, when decisions are coming ? I think, last interview was on 3/31… thx
