Thanks very much! Best of luck to your son too!

I’m afraid I don’t know, I’m just reporting what Maria (the coordinator, I can never remember her last name, blame it on aging) said at the orientation session. I’m sure interview is quite important - but unfortunately subjective. After all, I would assume all the candidates who received interview invitations have all made the cut with regards to everything else in the application, and it stands to reason then the interview would be the final distinguishing factor - why else interview at least twice the people you plan to enroll?

heard back from Case Western:

They say their application pool went up 15% this year, the main factor for being waitlisted is demonstrated interest. (To say it another way, they waitlisted us because they are not sure if we will actually go.) Last year they took 400 students off the list. S’s counselor suggest him to show interest if he really want to go, then he have very good chance to get in.

SLCMom, I bet Case feel your D is too strong, even an essay can not save her…

My daughter received a letter from Drexel. Of course she is at work and won’t be home to open it until 7! It is a large envelope but not thick. At the Villanova session it sounded like they would be sending the letters, but maybe only some. I will post later when she is home and opens it. She applied to the program through Villanova and Lehigh.

Thanks for a good laugh! I’m glad your son feels better now…best of luck for the rest of the applications!

Accepted to Villanova/Drexel!

I got it through snail mail. It was a small envelope.

@MedicalBoy, congrats!

@medicalboy congratulations!(:

Accepted into NJIT/SGU program! :slight_smile:
My parents don’t want me to go to med school in the Caribbean tho.

@medicalboy Yipeeee!!!

@princessher96 I strongly recommend against med school in the Caribbean - chances of getting into US to practice are low & difficult. If you have other Bs/MD option take it. If not, go to NJIT - they give great money - then apply yourself to other MD schools. Sorry that it feels like bitter excitement. However, if you think you will settle down there then it might be a good option.

@princessher96, I agree with Midhelper. As an International Medical Graduate myself, I would not advise anyone to have to go through what I went through. A US DO program would be much better than an international MD program.

@princessher96 I agree with the above I would advise against International Medical School.

Also, how was the Pitt Gap Interview for those of you who had it today?

Accepted to Villanova/Drexel! It was a one-page letter, I had to read it twice because it looked so much like a rejection letter.

Congrats @medicalboy and any possible lurkers on this forum who made it in as well :)

Waitlisted to Brooklyn BA/MD.

@med007- Congrats!!

@MedicalBoy- YAYY!!! How does this compare to PSU/Jeff for you?

@thejerseygirl- You go Glen Coco! It was so awesome meeting you at that interview haha :slight_smile: Is this a top choice?

Thanks everyone.

Congrats @thejerseygirl !!

@starlight27 If I had to pick between the two probably Penn/Jefferson but still waiting on the others.

Is Rutgers/NJMS still sending out interview invites? They suck at communication.

Congrats to everyone who received good news today!

@starlight27 waitlist is not a bad thing at all - many get chosen from the list because others have other options :)

@jerseygirl Fantastic news!!!

New to CC. Have been following posts.

@jerseygirl - Congrats!! to Villanova/Drexel
@starlight27- Congrats!! to Penn/Jefferson

Congrats to everyone that made it.
