I am planning on applying to bs/md programs this fall . Do I have a good chance at any bs/md program?
these are my stats: 760- cr 740 -math 750- writing

sat 2s- chem(700) bio (720) math (750)
volunteering nursing home- 100 hours
volunteering substance abuse program- 100 hours
publish a paper on substance abuse

I know high schools that weight AP courses out of 6.0, weighted GPA is worthless for that reason, progs will only consider your unweighted.

Your stats seem decent to me, increasing those SAT2s would definitely help, and you might be able to add some shadowing or hospital volunteering to strengthen your app over the summer. Even as is, you look competitive for the easier programs.

Weighted GPA is not considered due to the reasons others have provided. Using the unweighted GPA also removes the bias of some schools having more AP classes available than others. Just call any admission’s counselor and they will tell you.

All academys (special schools at high school level) counts the GPA at 6.0 scale. All these schools teaches at college level, have few APs each year and all other subjects at honors level

750+ is a good range for most programs, and for some exams getting close to an 800 is probably a good idea. Look at the accepted students threads to see what a good SAT2 is.

I think that you have an awesome chances. But acceptance to all of them is really mostly luck as most others would have about the same stats as you and many would have many more ECs, like sport, art, music,…writing awards…
Apply to wide range and see what happen, do not feel down if not accepted, most are getting to Med. School “regular route” anyway.
