BS on first job application?

Most job now requires you to have a prior experience. I don’t have one. Do you guys usually BS that experience part to get the job?

No. Honesty best policy.
Say you’re eager, motivated and willing to work hard to learn the job skills needed.
You’ve never had any kind of job like life guarding, babysitting, tutoring?

no
I’m applying to work at a restaurant though

Everyone has to start somewhere

So you start as a busboy or dishwasher.
Show up on time, take on extra shifts, have a good attitude, be dependable and you’ll quickly get more responsibility.
Restaurant jobs are typical entry jobs for lots of people.
Benefit: Free food.

be honest. a lie will just come back to bite you. plus, like tbomb said, you gotta start somewhere

being honest just doesn’t fit because prior experience is a BIG plus

Be honest. They know many high school kids haven’t had previous work experience.

things that take commitment, like an extensive internship/volunteer work could substitute job experience to some extent. I’m a marketing intern and plan on using that for work experience, but if you’re looking to apply now then you have to let other points shine, like your work ethic (GPA) and appearing personable and responsible

im re-applying to mcdonald’s…apparently they never checked my first app :/

just be honest…but at the same time try to sell what skills you can bring to the table for them  you don’t want to get in trouble.

Don’t lie. Just exaggerate

If it’s a minimum wage job, they don’t really expect much prior experience.

^^ Don’t even exaggerate.

On most apps, you need to put down phone numbers for previous jobs. How do you BS a phone number? Unless you have someone who is willing to be a bogus company.

So you have no prior experience. Oh well. Get a job and get experience. And the world goes 'round.
