BSE ComSci or BS CompSci & Econ?

I’ll be attending a decent state flagship next year(UMich). Currently enrolled for LSA.
Which of the two paths should I take?

Stay in LSA and get a BS in CompSci & Econ. I’m thinking this double major will offer me broad flexibility in employment for tech and finance related jobs.
But then I just saw this thread
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/1312901-most-attractive.html</a>
which says that engineering majors will be hurt by too many business credentials, even for Wall Street jobs on their resumes.

2.Transfer to COE and receive a Bachelors in Science Engineering(BSE) for CompSci only.
LSA requires 120 credits and 21 CompSci-related electives for a BS degree. COE requires 128 credits and 30 CompSci related electives for a BSE. Everything else between the two are the same like core courses. I could probably get a higher GPA in #2 than #1 since I’ll be taking less classes for a single major, and I’ll be able to take easier electives to boost my GPA. Plus, LSA average GPA is approximately 3.2-3.3 and COE is about 2.9, which will make it look even more impressive.
I’ve heard that it’s possible to pursue finance/consulting jobs with STEM majors.

If it matters, I may attend graduate school for a MBA later.

BUMP.

I’m facing the same dilemma. Same school, too (lol, small world).

Math/statistics/economics seems like the most obvious route to finance, and not particularly high workload if you can handle upper level math courses.

But banking [may be bad for your health](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204062704577223623824944472.html).
