Catching up now and it has been a while since read or posted.
Congratulations to all matched candidates and their families. For us match is still 5+ years away :slightly_smiling_face: as my DS finished M2 and now in G1, also Step 1 is passed.
On another note, his elder brother is now enjoying 3rd year at Nvidia and engaged to his highschool sweetheart, wedding next year ! Life is moving fast !!

Hi there!

My daughter is a junior in UG and has been offered to matriculate to her University’s SOM through an early assurance program. I think she has to submit her AMCAS application and MCAT score by summer next year, to start SOM in 2027.

In 2022-2023 , during her UG application cycle she had applied to a few BS/MD’s and was forwarded to the Med school part for 3. Does she have to report those rejections when she fills AMCAS now for her confirmed seat?

@WayOutWestMom probably knows the answer here.

I’ve seen mixed guidance on this.

Although it mostly a formality, your daughter will still need to fill out an actual AMCAS application and formally send her application to her Early Assurance med school.

When she goes to fill out her application in 2026, she should contact AMCAS directly and ask them. They have the definitive answer.

She can contact AMCAS through multiple methods:

Generally, it’s best to call their help line and ask a real person.

Thank you.

Hi guys,

It’s been many years since I have posted my last comment. Our son is graduating from Brown radiology next year and will be doing a fellowship at UCSF. He has turned down a chief resident position to focus more on doing research.

Good luck to all!!!
