If your student who tests well (ACT 33-36) began middle school or high school (assume that middle school grades are on the HS transcript) with mediocre grades (his/her share of Cs), but then had an upward trend in gpa (mostly As with a few Bs each year), I would love to hear how it affected the college list and ultimately, college admissions.
California resident? If so, then the UC and CSU GPA calculation method that does not include grades in 9th grade may help such a student.
What does BTDT stand for?
Been there, done that
Not a California resident, ucb, but a great point. Other colleges may have similar policies. Time to dig for that information. Thanks.
@sbjdorlo is this about your own kid?
Nope. A student I’m working with.
