Hi. We are in the process of looking at independent high schools for my daughter for next year. BU Academy is one that she is interested in. Although she really likes many aspects of the school (classical teaching, ability to take advanced college courses starting junior year, etc…), I worry that the school may be too “small” and that she may feel that her peer group may be limited as she progresses through the grades. She is coming from a smallish private middle school with a total class size of about 40 kids and has started feeling like she has outgrown the size of her current school.
I was wondering what others who may have attended BU Academy, or may currently be attending the school feel about the school size. Do you feel that you outgrow the size of the school by sophomore or junior year? I realize that by junior year, you start taking college courses but doubt that BUA students are socializing with the college kids outside of school. I’d love to hear students’ perspective on this.
Thanks!
